Judy Dodge was elected
Montgomery County Recorder in November 2000 for a four-year term. She brings to
the Recorder's Office over 20 years of administrative experience.
Dodge was born and raised in
Dayton, Ohio where she attended Dayton Public Schools and graduated from
Colonel White High School. She went on
to earn her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wright State University in 1985 and
graduated from the Leadership Dayton Program in 1991.
During her career of public
service, Dodge has served in a variety of capacities. She began her public service in 1985 as an Administrative
Assistant to the Ohio State and Local Government Commission. She went on to become the Commission
Assistant to Montgomery County Commissioner Paula MacIlwaine from 1987-1991. After her tenure with the County Commission,
Dodge was a Regional Liaison to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office from
1991-1995. Most recently, she served as
the Assistant Court Administrator for the Montgomery County Domestic Relations
Court overseeing a staff of 55 court employees and a budget of $2 million
dollars.
Dodge is the recipient of the
Law Day’s Liberty Bell Award and the Dayton Women’s Bar Association’s
Distinguished Service Award. She also serves on several community boards and
commissions that include Miami Valley Fair Housing Center, Miami Valley
Literacy Council, Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative and Regulatory
Committee, Sinclair Legal Assistant Advisory Board, Vandalia Housing Code Board
of Appeals, Vandalia Rotary Club, Family Services Association Board and
Christmas in April Board.
In her capacity as County
Recorder, Dodge is a member of the Ohio Recorders Association (ORA) and the
National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials and Clerks
(NACRC), the largest affiliate of the National Association of County Officers
(NACO).
She currently resides in Vandalia, Ohio and is the mother
of a son, 24 and daughter, 21.
